History of Rainforest Fresh Bakery
My dad started working in the industry in 1982 at 15 as a bakery assistant at the Everton Hills bakery. Which then went to be owned by Old Style Hot Bread Kitchen (now known as Brumbies). Dad worked at The Old Style Hot Bread Kitchen, but then left so he could join his old boss to open The Clayfeild markets Hot Bread Kitchen. He then moved to work at La Baguette bakery in Everton Park for 5 years. After those 5 years dad then went to work at The Lawnton Country markets. Not long after that he went to work at the Aspley bakery. My dad then got married to his lovely hard working wife and my mum Annette. Dad then worked at Donuts On The Run, which is now shutdown. My lovely parents then purchased the Everton Hills bakery in 1993. This bakery was originally named Sundown bakery but is now know as the Rainforest Fresh bakery.
The site where the bakery is located was first originated in the early 70's. The rainforest bakery got its name from my pop’s rainforest. My mum and dad named the bakery after it because it was fresh and that was the type of product that my dad wanted to put across into the bakery.
In 2006 dad started making gluten free products due to me being diagnosed with coeliac disease. The products which dad makes are: baked cheese cake, multigrain bread, white bread, bread rolls, cheese and bacon rolls, cupcakes, brownies, sponge rolls, date loaf, banana bread. Lamingtons, neinish tarts and birthday cakes.
